Children learn through play, both indoors and outdoors. Play is essential for children's development, building their confidence as they learn to explore.

The home corner where children role play and act out experiences, whilst learning to share and socialise with their peers and staff, whilst developing their social skills along with their language and communication skills.
Our Mud Kitchen area where children develop their knowledge of the natural environment and gain first hand experience of caring for wildlife and living things and the natural world around therm. Children use their imagination with the mud kitchen area whilst using natural things. They dig in the mud using diggers, wheelbarrows, spades etc and jump in muddy puddles, whilst using a hose pipe for their water supply. We also have the use of a fire pit.
This is our Playdough area, where children develop their physical skills, whilst helping to strengthen their muscles in preparation for writing and learning to handle tools and equipment safely.
This is the indoor sand pit where children can explore with the texture of the sand on their hands and feet, whilst socialising with their peers and encouraging communication and language skills.
Children enjoy our Bikes, cars scooters etc whilst developing their whole body physical strength all of which is integral to their health, wellbeing and self care. The children are also learning about road safety with the use of our road safety props. This all enables them to become active leaners, by making links, working with ideas and using their imagination whilst also developing their communication and language skills.

This is the mark making area where children develop their early writing skills. They begin to give meaning to the marks they make, link sound to letters and start the early formation of letters, in preparation for writing.
This is our magnetic board where children learn about simple shapes and patterns and letter recognition. This is early preparation for Writing
Children have lots of fun in the messy craft area where they are developing their creativity, through the use of various textures and enabling then to safely use tools and materials. They learn to think of their own ideas and to achieve what they set out to do.

Our indoor water play where children have fun, whilst playing and exploring and learning early maths, such as comparisons and weights and measures. Also working together with their peers and staff to solve problems to enable them to become critical thinkers.
Our indoor construction area has a mixture of small construction resources and large wooden bricks, where children can construct , be imaginative, learn to work together with their peers and become active learners and critical thinkers.
Our outdoor Construction Area where children have the use of crates, tyres, bricks etc. They use their imagination by making cars, buses, boats etc. whilst developing their language skills, socialising with peers and adults, having their own ideas, being involved, all of which enable them to become an active learner and a creative and critical thinker.
